Newly expanded range of online courses made available

Free e-learning from Euro Car Parts

Euro Car Parts has increased the number of free e-learning courses available through its AutoEducation Academy to help technicians develop their skills and knowledge while adhering to social distancing guidelines.

The aim is to support garages that are still open for business, as well as offering a productive way for technicians to use any time they may spend away from the workshop.

Topics include hybrid and diesel, as well as air conditioning and vehicle electronics – to help garages maximise revenue when they reopen, especially considering that the weather is likely to be warmer, and that many vehicles will have developed faults while out of use for an extended period.

LKQ Euro Car Parts launches cloud-based garage management system

LKQ Euro Car Parts has introduced a new cloud-based version of its garage management software, CarSys.

Exclusively available to customers of LKQ Euro Car Parts, CarSys is a user-friendly software platform that allows garages to streamline the way they work – boosting productivity and efficiency in the workshop, while delivering a more professional customer experience.

The system houses customer and vehicle databases, meaning technicians can easily look up MOT and service histories, as well as all the data needed for accurate quoting and invoicing.

Haynes Pro data is used to calculate prices and schedule jobs in the workshop, ensuring garages get the most out of each working day.

The system also comes with a direct link to the full LKQ Euro Car Parts catalogue, facilitating 24/7 online parts look up and quick ordering.

Other features include stock management, a help centre, and the ability to sync with leading accounting solutions, Sage and QuickBooks.

Anthony McAteer, trading director SMR at LKQ Euro Car Parts said: “Everything we do is designed to help independent garages run as profitable businesses, that have happy, loyal customers.

“Software like CarSys is key to the future of the aftermarket and will help independents compete with the dealerships, by ensuring they operate as efficiently and effectively as possible.

“The CarSys cloud-based platform comes loaded with all the information technicians need to make decisions and carry out work.

“To give an example, drivers can benefit from real-time pricing based on Haynes Pro data, which means they don’t need to ring round multiple garages for quotes, and which gives our garage customers a greater chance of securing a sale first time.”

The system is accessed through the CarSys website and supported by a mobile app, meaning technicians can dip in and out between jobs.

For £49.99 per month, garages will gain access for an unlimited number of users.

Anthony McAteer added: “This has been a challenging few months for many garages, but the good news is that now restrictions are being relaxed, there’s a backlog of vehicles waiting to come through the workshop doors.

“Of those that were due, just 20 per cent of MOTs were completed in March this year, and 23 per cent in April, which means we expect demand to be as much as three times normal levels over the next few months.

“Using CarSys to organise their day-to-day business will help garages capitalise on this pent-up demand, and maximise revenue for the rest of the year and beyond – delivering a top quality service to customers old and new.”

The CarSys software is the invention of the Dutch brand with the same name, which became part of LKQ Europe in 2017 and is now supporting LKQ Euro Car Parts’ network-wide digital innovation drive.
